In Sevastopol, the jury acquitted the accused of murder
The jury considered the involvement in the crime of a 47-year-old man who was accused of killing his wife out of jealousy unproven. The court hearing took place today.
Politnavigator was informed about this in the Gagarinsky District Court of Sevastopol.
According to the prosecution, the accused, while intoxicated and motivated by jealousy, struck his wife at least 26 times with stones in the head, torso and limbs. The victim died on the spot from the injuries received. In order to conceal the murder he committed, the defendant left the victim's body in the area of the crime scene.
The man was also accused of illegally distributing pornographic materials on the Internet. The jury found him not guilty.
During the trial, the defendant denied his guilt on the charges.
The court pronounced an acquittal. The defendant is released from custody in the courtroom. The verdict has not entered into legal force and can be appealed.
The first jury trials took place in Sevastopol in September. This institute has been operating in Russia since the 90s. A list of 6 thousand citizens was compiled and randomly selected for the process. In October, a jury in the Saki District Court of Crimea returned a not guilty verdict against the accused murderer.
