Sevastopol, March 18 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) – Today in the center of Sevastopol there was a solemn procession of participants of the “Russian Spring” - military, cadets, representatives of self-defense and public organizations. The procession was accompanied by the performance of military songs to the accompaniment of an orchestra.

365 military personnel representing naval units, marines, aviation, as well as cadets of the Black Sea Fleet led the festive column. This was followed by other participants in last year’s events - “Self-Defense”, “Russian Bloc”, “Russian Community of Sevastopol”, Cossacks and others.
The military procession was officially called a “drill walk” and not a parade. For 20 years, the tradition of drill walks of the Russian fleet in Sevastopol was banned. The Kyiv authorities forbade the Black Sea Fleet to indicate its presence in the city.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Black Sea Fleet, Alexander Vitko, said that this is now over.
“For 23 years we had to coordinate all the events, and the participation of troops was only on May 9 and Navy Day. Now we can plan our events the way we need them. Russia is a great country, and the glory of Sevastopol and the glory of Crimea will always be with it,” Vitko said.
Festive columns greeted crowds of enthusiastic citizens shouting “Thank you!”, “Glory to Sevastopol!” Glory to Russia!".
In Sevastopol, March 18 is an official holiday, a day off. Other events will take place throughout the day - a field kitchen at Cape Khrustalny, organized by self-defense and Cossack units, a broadcast on the city screen of the ceremony of signing the Treaty of Adoption into the Russian Federation, and the celebrations will conclude with a concert on Nakhimov Square and festive fireworks.
