Today in Sevastopol a trial was held in the case of the leader of the Russian bloc Gennady Basov, who 9 months ago was arrested on charges of taking a bribe and has been behind bars without proven guilt all this time. The politician’s defense claims that he fell victim to the cemetery mafia because he wanted to destroy the shadow schemes that had developed back in Ukraine in the funeral business, “protected” by “werewolves in uniform.”
Today the court began hearing the defendant's testimony. Basov did not admit his guilt, and explains his current situation as an attempt to settle scores with him.

“We see the biased attitude of the court,” commented lawyer Igor Morozov, noting that the challenges filed by the defense were rejected.
“In Ukraine they tried to kill Gennady, they tried to do anything to him, he fought so that Crimea and Sevastopol would be reunited with Russia. But his enemies ensured that he ended up in the dock. These are those who oppose Russia, who still remain in their offices,” Anatoly Basov, the father of the leader of the “Russian Bloc,” a veteran submariner of the USSR Navy, told PolitNavigator.
The next court hearing is scheduled for 10:00 on August 4, 2016.
