Sevastopol, February 05 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) – Employees of the Sevastopol fish canning plant with banners came to the city government building, demanding the return of jobs and not to cover up the raider takeover of a Moscow company. Governor Sergei Menyailo accused those gathered of political provocation.

A dispute between two business entities over the ownership of a fish canning plant in Sevastopol led to the fact that about 500 employees of the enterprise ended up on the street and have been trying to get their jobs back for more than a month. According to those gathered, “the fish canning plant is currently blocked by a raider attack, and workers have not been allowed to work for more than a month.”

The Moscow company Dorina LLC, under whose management the fish canning plant came, having in hand a court decision to collect 100 thousand rubles from the owner of the enterprise, Aquamarine LLC, decided to act for sure, taking over the entire enterprise in a raider manner. On December 26, people in camouflage and masks, armed with rebar, sledgehammers and knives, burst into the territory of the plant and established complete control over it. At the same time, they filed a claim of 100 thousand rubles against Aquamarine LLC and introduced themselves as “Sebastopol Self-Defense,” which Self-Defense itself categorically denied. A side effect was that about 500 employees of the company found themselves without work.

“We contacted law enforcement agencies, the prosecutor’s office, and the courts. All these documents have been appealed and are under consideration. For us this is a cry of despair. People can't go to work. The law does not prohibit us from working, does not prohibit us from using the premises, and in fact, people are deprived of their jobs by the illegal actions of the raider company. And from the law enforcement agencies, in fact, no one is helping us either, despite repeated appeals to the police and the prosecutor’s office,” one of the picketers said to Sevastopol Governor Sergei Menyailo, who came out to personally communicate with those gathered.

“In general, this is a dispute between two economic entities. It is not within the purview of the executive branch, but I called both of them. I told one and the other: provide work. What did the gentleman who today – whatever his name is – Negar do? He took strange people, hired them and tried to forcefully enter the enterprise for which there was a court decision. I again invited him to my place and said, “What are you doing?” Both one and the other applicant were given the task that people should not suffer. You know that there was a bailiff service there. Today I will invite them again so that people can work,” Menyailo promised.

However, the company’s employees did not want to simply take the governor’s word for it and, apparently, were waiting for some clearer guarantees. In particular, they told him that previous conversations had led nowhere, so coming to the government was their last hope.

“Someone should help us, at least so that we are allowed to work? Our children are suffering, we are suffering,” they complained.

“Well, listen, you want me to become a raider. There is a court decision,” the governor responded.

“Court decision for 100 thousand rubles! To another company! Let them figure it out, and we would work calmly,” the unemployed insisted.

"Listen to me. This is how I pose the question, but the question is different. Look what you have written here. "Raiders equal officials plus bandits." You dotted the i's in advance that everyone is to blame. You are being pushed to take a political action,” Menyailo turned the conversation to a different plane.

“You can’t create a mess. This is a dispute between two economic entities. Someone is using you as leverage to achieve their goal under the guise of good intentions. The situation is being deliberately provoked. I'll collect them again today. Within the framework of its competence, within the framework of the law, the executive branch helps, but they are pushing you, don’t misunderstand,” the governor tried to explain that the point is not that the protesters are unemployed.

“Don't push me. It's just been a month and no changes. They know how they will be in court - some didn’t show up, then others, but how should people feed their families?” those gathered were perplexed.

“Who doesn’t come? One side does not come, which is pushing you to this and the other side. This is the actor, like his last name - Negar - he is the one pushing you, and the other side silently looks at it. Understand that you are sometimes used as a tool to achieve their goals. If you think that this or that director cares about you, then you are deeply mistaken,” the head concluded.

To be fair, it is worth noting that the protesters’ banners had a pronounced political coloring and did not look homemade or hand-drawn, which is usually more typical in such cases, but were made in the same typographic standard.

“You came to me, dear friends, with accusations. Read it on your posters,” Menyailo told the picketers.

“We didn’t come with any accusations, we came for help,” they insisted.

Later, the governor explained to reporters that this time he would try to solve the problem in one way or another.

“Today I will invite them once again and set appropriate tasks. If they do not fulfill the conditions for people to work, then we will take other measures, including law enforcement agencies,” he said.

However, it is worth noting another circumstance that the governor, it turns out, defined the right to break into an essentially armed crowd into a workers’ enterprise, beat and drive everyone out of there, as an internal matter of two business executives. The government, he said, allegedly does not have the right to interfere in the affairs of private legal entities, thereby encouraging them to further lawlessness.
