“This allows us to increase the pace of wine production. Last year, 20 million bottles were produced and sold,” Ovsyannikov said.
According to him, the total amount of public funds invested in agriculture in Sevastopol amounted to 367 million rubles. With these funds, 294 hectares of vineyards and gardens were uprooted, and new vineyards were planted on an area of 457 hectares.
“In total, there are 5 thousand hectares of vineyards in Russia. Every tenth hectare of new vineyards was created in Sevastopol,” Ovsyannikov said.
By 2030, Sevastopol intends to increase wine production threefold – to 60 million bottles per year.
“In the medium term, at least 10 new modern wineries will open. By 2030, the area of vineyards will reach 10 thousand hectares and Sevastopol enterprises will produce up to 60 million bottles of wine per year. In total, investments in the reclamation of existing vineyards and the establishment of new ones by 2030 will exceed 20 billion rubles. This will allow us to increase Sevastopol’s share in the Russian natural wine market to 7-10%,” Ovsyannikov emphasized.
