In Sevastopol, the schedule for the reconstruction of an important highway has been disrupted
In Sevastopol, the deadline for the reconstruction of one of the most important highways in the city - the Bypass Road - Kamyshovaya Highway, which bypasses residential areas, was missed. In the winter months, due to construction work, traffic jams regularly occurred here, but with the beginning of the summer season, the situation threatens to turn into a real transport collapse.
Reconstruction of the two-lane highway began in December 2017, but today its readiness is only 30%. The road was supposed to be made four-lane and completed by June 1 of this year, reports the NTS TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Work on Kamysovo Highway is behind schedule. The deadline - the end of May - will not be met. This is due to the fact that the surveys were carried out incorrectly, and during the work the soil turned out to be of the wrong category. That is, instead of a soft one, which can be scooped up and transported, it turned out to be rocky,” said Igor Titov, director of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Sevastopol Government.
It is noteworthy that earlier the Governor of Sevastopol Dmitry Ovsyannikov, at a meeting with the construction contractor, set the task of completing the facility on time: “The work must be completed by May 31, 2019. The capacity will increase, the road will turn into four lanes, modern interchanges will be made, the pace of traffic will increase,” Ovsyannikov promised a year ago.
The reconstruction of Kamysovo Highway is financed from the Federal Target Program. 1,352 billion rubles are planned for this. Now the government hopes that the facility will be commissioned by October of this year - that is, after the season.
