This was discussed on Friday during a press conference at the Sunday school of St. Vladimir's Cathedral in Chersonesos.

“We are planning this action as a missionary one. All newly baptized people, all people who come to churches and get married, will receive the “New Testament and Psalter.” Moreover, our children, our soldiers, our parishioners will receive these books,” said Father Sergius, Dean of the Sevastopol District.

According to him, the “Holy Scripture of the New Testament” was published with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus', and the action itself will begin on Saturday at St. Vladimir’s Cathedral in Chersonesos.

Some of the books of the “New Testament” will be sent to the Southeast; by the end of the week, 4 thousand copies will be sent to the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

“Before the revolution, we believed in God, the Tsar and the Fatherland, then we believed in the bright future of communism. Then there was a period when emptiness set in and it was very good that people began to come to faith with their souls. And what is written in this holy book, these canons are generally accepted for any normal person. God grant that everyone finds their faith, that dream that will sooner or later come true,” said the acting director. Governor of Sevastopol Sergei Menyailo.

“For 23 years, residents of Sevastopol, Crimeans and Russians believed that historical justice would prevail. Now you and I believe that we are part of Russia and our life will get better,” the mayor emphasized.
