The purpose of the action was to collect signatures for an appeal to the command of the Russian Black Sea Fleet with a request to set up checkpoints at the entrance to the city in order to protect against possible attacks by armed Maidan protesters.

At the end of the rally, all participants headed to the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. An officer came out to them, introducing himself as the commandant of the Sevastopol garrison. He promised to convey the letter from the Sevastopol residents to the commander and report the answer tomorrow.

The protesters decided to gather again on Saturday on this occasion.
