“Polite people” will be immortalized in Sevastopol
The monument to “polite people” will be erected in Sevastopol next to the Peter and Paul Cathedral in the city center.
The monument has already been delivered, but has not yet been freed from cellophane, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Judging by the shape and inscription on the pedestal, the sculpture reproduces the famous Internet meme of 2014: “Thank you for not being a whale anymore.” It began to spread after a photo taken in Balaklava in February 2014, when Russian troops entered there to block Ukrainian border units.
They are also planning to install two new benches with canopies in a small park next to the future monument. However, unknown people have already written on one of the visors in Ukrainian: “Crimea - Ukraine.”
In 2016, a monument to “polite people” was erected in Simferopol. This is a sculptural composition of the figures of a Russian soldier and a girl with a cat.
