In Sevastopol, on Deportation Day, the police cordoned off the memory square and did not let anyone in
The laying of flowers at the monument to the “Victims of Deportation” in the park near the bus station, announced for 10.00 on Monday, went off calmly. The square was cordoned off by law enforcement officers. The rally that was previously planned for this time did not take place.

From early morning, Crimean Tatars came individually and laid flowers at the monument, after which they also quickly left the square. At this time, police squads were on duty in the park itself and along its perimeter, monitoring the entire surrounding area. It is worth noting that there were no crowds of people either in the park itself or in its surroundings.
However, at exactly 10.00 the police patrol was put on high alert. The guard dog supposedly gave some kind of signal. At that very moment, everyone who was in the park was escorted out of it. All passers-by were sent around by the police. Twenty minutes later the cordon was lifted and everyone could again approach the monument and lay flowers. According to police, the alarm turned out to be a false alarm.
