The representative of the governor of Sevastopol in the Legislative Assembly, Alexander Svechnikov, stated this on Wednesday on the “We Decide Together” program of the Sevastopol Information Channel, after listening to the complaint of a pensioner who called in to the live broadcast. According to the woman, employees of the Federal Migration Service mixed up the letters in her first and last name when issuing a passport, which deprived her of her legal pension. In addition, in order to change a document that was damaged through their fault, FMS employees demanded that they pay a state fee of 300 rubles and collect “a bunch of papers.”

The woman claims that, according to their own words, it would be easier for her to lose her passport than to have it with her with errors. In case of loss, the state fee is 150 rubles, you need to collect less paperwork and the procedure itself is much faster. She also assured that her case was far from the only one to which the official was forced to agree, promising to regulate the mechanism for issuing passports.

“We were very dissatisfied with the work of the FMS and, in general, the government continues to express dissatisfaction. Indeed, poorly organized work. This may be due to objective reasons, since the number of employees per population during the transition period is not ensured,” Svechnikov said.

At the same time, he assured that “the governor took drastic measures on this issue at the beginning of the month,” in particular, to increase the total number of employees and windows of the MFC.

“There are problems with mistakes being made. In order to reduce costs, we sent a letter of exemption from paying state fees for issuing documents. It is being considered. Apparently today or tomorrow we will prepare documents to exempt from paying state duty when replacing passports with errors that were issued. This is a big problem. We know it and are trying to resolve these issues at the government level,” said Alexander Svechnikov.
