Sevastopol, September 08 (PolitNavigator, Olga Nikolaeva) – In Sevastopol, it is planned to reconstruct the water treatment facilities of the 3rd hydroelectric complex (GU-3) of the Sevgorvodokanal municipal enterprise using funds from the Federal Target Program for the Development of Crimea and Sevastopol.

This was discussed during the working trip of the acting Governor of Sevastopol Sergei Menyailo to the facilities of the Sevgorvodokanal enterprise and meetings with the company’s staff.

However, according to the mayor, funds under the Federal Target Program have not yet been received; contracts for work with contractors will be signed “under obligations.”

“The funds have been approved, but in fact they are not, they will be allocated. Under these obligations... to begin the reconstruction of the 3rd unit, without stopping its operation, and the second - for wells: reactivation of old wells and drilling of new wells,” Menyailo said.

According to Vodokanal director Nikola Pereguda, one of the tasks of “reconstructing the waterworks is to move away from the use of chlorine and transfer the facility to water disinfection with hypochloride,” which is a more modern method of water quality disinfection.

“108 million rubles have been allocated for the transition under the federal target program; the Moscow company Water Resources is developing the project,” Pereguda said.

The reconstruction also provides for the replacement by 2017 of pumping equipment, which has been in operation since the 60s, with more powerful and energy-intensive ones.

The 3rd hydroelectric complex, with a capacity of 120 thousand cubic meters per day, is located near the village of Sturmovoye and purifies and disinfects water from the Chernorechensky reservoir.

The federal target program for the development of Crimea and Sevastopol provides 9 billion rubles to solve the problems of water supply in Sevastopol.
