Inspections carried out by the Sevastopol prosecutor's office in 2014-2015 indicate the prevalence of overestimation of prices for vital medicines by business entities, reports the press service of the supervisory agency.

Thus, this year alone, the prosecutor’s office has initiated 11 cases of administrative offenses under Art. 14.6 Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of pricing procedures). Four of them have already been considered by the court, fines in the amount of 26 thousand rubles have been imposed on the perpetrators.
The issue of rising prices for medicines remains relevant, meanwhile, in Sevastopol, the report notes, in violation of the Federal Law “On the Circulation of Medicines”, the implementation of state control over the application of prices for medicines included in the list of vitally important drugs is not entrusted to the regional body control.
In order to eliminate violations of the law, the prosecutor of Sevastopol submitted a proposal to the city government, based on the results of which the Sevastopol Tariff Department was given the right to exercise state control at the regional level.
