The behind-the-scenes struggle between Chaly and Menyailo continues in the Sevastopol United Russia
Sevastopol, January 29 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) – The data that appeared the day before in the media about the change of the secretary of the Sevastopol organization “United Russia” Viktor Oganesyan to Boris Kolesnikov, who is close to Governor Sergei Menyailo, was fully confirmed.
This is the result of the party conference held on Thursday in Sevastopol.

The official reason for Oganesyan’s removal from his position was his personal request due to his workload - among other things, he is also the director of the school. In private conversations, Oganesyan himself also names this very reason, but many associate his replacement with Boris Kolesnikov with a chess game in which a check is made against the hero of the “Russian Spring” Alexei Chaloy.
It just so happened that the personal request of the now former secretary coincided with the intention to increase the size of the regional political council by 10 people at once, as a result of which it grew to 35.
“We have added 10 people - this is by status and in accordance with the charter. We should have secretaries of local parties there,” said State Duma deputy, head of the interregional coordination council of the party in the KFO, Viktor Pinsky. Also, according to him, there was a rotation in the control and audit commission of the party. “This decision was made in a consolidated manner, 80% supported these decisions,” he added.
The new secretary of the Sevastopol branch of the party in power, Boris Kolesnikov, explained after his appointment that “continuity will be maintained” in the work of the party, although he corrected himself that now everything will be different, although he does not know how, he still agrees.
“No revolutions are expected. In my opinion, continuity is expected, but since representatives of the Presidium of the General Council of the party say that the requirements will be more stringent and some new ones, then we are ready for these requirements and are ready to work and carry out what the party leadership will offer us to do here in the city ", Kolesnikov said.
At the same time, Olga Timofeeva, a senator from Sevastopol and Chaly’s supporter, immediately after the decisions were made, sharply criticized them. Thus, the senator did not like the increase in the size of the regional political council by 10 people at once.
We did not have the opportunity to talk to these people, we did not have the opportunity to discuss each candidate. This is one of the most fundamental points. When this happens, I think it is not right. This is precisely the destruction of that fragile balance. Those who have taken responsibility, if they understand what they have taken on, well, great. There will be someone to ask. But I never take responsibility if I don’t see the consequences of the situation,” said Olga Timofeeva.
In her opinion, we are talking about revenge of those who “had full power to manage the city’s resources, but then lost this full power, but want to return to it.”
“These attempts at revanchism are present, and we see them even in the example of our city, when incomprehensible decisions are made. When something can be done softly and painlessly for people, it breaks down. Those. You and I understand that we have not escaped the fifth column a year later. And these attempts will be repeated,” she explained.
In response to a clarifying question from a journalist about what she took to be the activities of the fifth column in Sevastopol, Olga Timofeeva said that she meant the decisions of the executive branch headed by Sergei Menyailo.
“I believe that the fifth column is the government’s mistakes, but the financial and economic bloc, which made budget calculations, primarily in the field of education, healthcare, culture, sports, i.e. basic salaries and, accordingly, salaries in all these areas - this is either a gross manifestation of unprofessionalism, or this is really the work of the fifth column,” the senator explained, making it clear that “Chaly’s team” has really accumulated a lot of irritation with the government, and new personnel decisions in the Sevastopol branch of the party in power splashed it out.
