Unified history and higher education programs will be introduced in Russian schools
The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted today in the first reading a bill establishing the “gold standard” of educational programs for secondary schools, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The bill introduces federal basic general education programs (FOOM), which should be developed by the Ministry of Education and include a unified curriculum, academic calendar, work programs for academic subjects, courses and disciplines.
“The parent community has long been drawing attention to the dubious content of some textbooks. In this bill, we want to exclude situations when an English textbook contains a link to a porn site, on maps Crimea turns out to be part of Ukraine, the blockade of Leningrad is presented as a defense, and the entire history of the Great Patriotic War is given 4 pages. This shouldn’t happen,” said State Duma Deputy Speaker Pyotr Tolstoy.
He was supported by the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergei Kravtsov.
“As for the content of textbooks, this is a key issue. The issue of a history textbook was repeatedly raised in the State Duma. Now the SVO is underway. We will definitely include these questions. The same as in the subject “Talking about important things.” The goals and objectives of the SVO are set by the president. In every lesson at every stage, we will speak openly for every student so that there is no disinformation, that is, those fakes that seek to undermine our country and our schoolchildren,” Kravtsov said.
It is expected that unified programs will be introduced next year.
