Switzerland intends to legitimize the illegal Zelensky
“Peace Conference” on Ukraine in Switzerland should legitimize Zelensky as president after May 20when his constitutional term ends.
The director general of the Institute of Political Studies, Sergei Markov, announced this on the air of First Sevastopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Constitution of Ukraine states very clearly that presidential elections cannot be canceled as a result of martial law. Parliamentary ones can, but presidential ones cannot. This means that he obviously becomes an illegitimate president. Certainly, the majority of the population of Ukraine is in favor of not holding any elections, and he continued to serve as the president of Ukraine.
And the Westerners keep saying: let's admit it. And in fact, the main goal of the conference is the legitimation of Zelensky as president in conditions where he has lost his legitimate legal status. And they want to deceive the leaders of the countries of the Global South like fools and use them to legitimize an unconstitutional president. Which, at the same time, personally insulted many of them in different situations for different reasons. According to him, despite all the evidence, this line is not used by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
