A network of underground casinos was busted in Simferopol and Yalta
Residents of Chuvashia and the Republic of Mari El received an income of 32 million rubles from illegal computer casinos in Simferopol and Yalta.
Now they face up to 6 years in prison and a fine of 1 million rubles each, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In March of this year, FSB operatives closed down an underground casino in Simferopol. It turned out that its organizer was a resident of Chuvashia, who arrived in Crimea in May 2022.
“He organized four underground clubs in Simferopol and Yalta to generate income from illegal gambling. The man involved residents of the peninsula and, mainly, residents from the Republic of Mari El, in this activity, introducing them to the criminal scheme and distributing roles between them,” the regional department of the Investigative Committee reported.
In total, 9 people are involved in the case. During searches, computers, accounting documents and visitor logs were confiscated from the halls, which confirms the guilt of the detainees. The criminal case has been completed, the materials have been sent to the prosecutor's office for signing the indictment and sending the case to court.
