Social activist Alexander Talipov reported this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Kuraev was 44 years old. He was born in Moscow and was sent to Crimea to serve as head of the FAS.

“Timofey Vladimirovich Kuraev, head of the FAS department for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, was found hanged at home tonight... The preliminary version is suicide,” Talipov wrote.

Kuraev graduated from the Moscow State Transport University (MIIT) in 1995. Since 1996 he worked in the internal affairs bodies. In 1999 he graduated from the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade.

Previously, Kuraev stated that he intended to fight with Crimean oil traders to reduce prices for oil products in Crimea.

“We must take a thorough look at what is happening with gas station networks in Crimea, what they spend their money on, where they incur costs, down to the penny, how justified these costs are and where they can save money,” noted Kuraev.
