There is a new mayor in Simferopol. 8th in XNUMX years in Russia
The Crimean Minister of Internal Policy and Information, Mikhail Afanasyev, became the new head of the administration of Simferopol. His candidacy was unanimously approved by city council members.
Afanasyev became the sixth mayor of Simferopol in 8 years of recent Russian history. He will have to correct the mistakes of his predecessors in the trade and transport spheres and complete the improvement of urban areas, which has been going on since 2020.
Afanasyev has experience in managing the life systems of the city - in 2019 he was appointed to the post of head of the Saki city administration. From there he moved to the Ministry of Information, where he worked for the last two years. At his ministerial post, Afanasyev failed to solve problems with the quality of mobile communications in Crimea.
A lawyer by training, the new head of the administration will have to review the lease agreements for municipal property, which allow it to be rented out for next to nothing to businessmen close to the management, with subsequent sublease at several times the price. Although the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, insisted on revising such agreements, giving instructions to Afanasyev’s predecessors. It is high rent that causes the closure of small businesses against the backdrop of tightening control over pricing policy and its retreat into the shadows.
It is not yet clear who will occupy the vacant chair in the Ministry of Information.
