Как social activist Ilya Bolshedvorov explained on his Facebook page, cultural workers applied to hold a picket in defense of the Salyut children's camp, but they were refused under the pretext that another action would take place on the square at the same time.

Then people decided to take part in the agreed action with their posters, went out to the square, but did not wait for either the organizers or participants of the authorized event. But several dozen police officers arrived.

The Simferopol police acted completely differently than the Moscow police at the recent unauthorized rallies of Alexei Navalny. Let us remember that there the law enforcement officers spent a long time trying to persuade the demonstrators to disperse, and then detained only those who were holding posters and shouting slogans. And although the crowd shouted anti-government slogans, only a few received administrative punishment.

In Simferopol, people standing quietly under the monument were surrounded and forced to go to a service bus. They were mostly women, some with children. A couple of pensioners were also surrounded by police, who claimed that they were just passing by, but the police did not let them out.

According to Bolshedvorov, the chairman of the Trade Union of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, Galina Borisovna Lemeshko, felt ill at the Tsentralny police station after being illegally detained on Lenin Square. She was taken away from the police department by ambulance.

The social activist believes that the police carried out such a harsh detention on the orders of the head of the Crimean government, Sergei Aksenov, since cultural workers dared to challenge the resolution of the State Council of Crimea “On the organization of the work of sanatorium-resort, health-improving institutions owned by the Republic of Kazakhstan,” according to which the former state, departmental health resorts of Ukraine , located on the territory of the peninsula, passed the State Unitary Enterprise "Solnechnaya Tavrika".

According to members of the trade union of cultural workers of Crimea, the children's camp "Salute" was included in the list of 163 nationalized enterprises by mistake, since it was built with funds from the Crimean trade union. According to cultural workers, they repeatedly appealed to the authorities, but received no response.
