A concert for fans of Euromaidan songs will be held in Simferopol
On Friday, December 7, in the center of Simferopol at the Tortuga club there will be a concert of cover versions of songs by the Ukrainian group Okean Elzy, whose leader Svyatoslav Vakarchuk took an active part in the Orange Revolution of 2004 and the coup d’etat of 2013-14, “warming up” the crowd gathered at Euromaidan.
It is interesting that the Tortuga club is located at Kirova-54 - previously there was the rock club “Two Captains”, which belonged to a member of the Ukrainian nationalist party “Svoboda”, who has now left Crimea.
“There is such a group “Kuraga” in Sevastopol. Such good, creative guys. The day after tomorrow at the Simferpol club “Tortuga” a tribute to the group “Okean Elzy” was announced. Of course, everyone plays and listens to the music they like. But considering that the leader of Okean Elzy Vakarchuk is called in the Ukrainian media a potentially dangerous candidate for the presidency of Ukraine, I just want to ask the musicians a question: “Are you part of the election campaign or what?” )The event is given a special flavor by the fact that Vakarchuk, as Wikipedia writes, “In 2013-2014, he was an active participant in political protests at Euromaidan,” - comments on his blog journalist Lidiya Adelshinova-Mikhailova.
As PolitNavigator reported, On August 26, there was already an attempt to hold a concert in Simferopol with songs of groups that participated in Euromaidan, supported participants in the ATO and the blockade of Crimea, or welcomed the massacre of Russians in Odessa. After a response in the press, the summer concert was cancelled.
