The head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, announced this on Monday at an off-site meeting of the Council of Ministers of Crimea.
According to him, this will be accomplished through joint public-private partnership funds. The airport will also carry out reconstruction of the station area at its own expense.
“Reconstruction of the station area with the relocation of the public transport stop. This is at the expense of the airport; it has a high income. The airport will work on all these measures together with Krymavtotrans. It is planned to send about 300 million there. Also, the construction of an air terminal complex, which will be designed for 8,5 million passengers per year. There will be a public-private partnership. The draft agreement has been signed, preliminary preliminary studies will be carried out, a new terminal will be built on 60 thousand square meters,” said Sergei Aksenov.
Let us recall that earlier, during the period of Ukrainian ownership of Crimea, up to 5 million people arrived on the peninsula by all types of vehicles, and the Simferopol airport served about 1 million people a year.
