The defendant, Alexander Kostenko, born in 1986, was arrested in Crimea by a court decision on February 8. He is charged under articles of the Criminal Code “Intentional infliction of minor bodily harm” and “Illegal acquisition, storage and carrying of the main parts of a firearm.”

According to the investigation, in February last year in Kyiv, Kostenko inflicted bodily injuries on an employee of the Crimean special forces unit "Berkut", and also illegally stored a rifled barrel at his place of residence.

Let us remind you that today in Crimea, 50 fighters of the local “Berkut” who defended the legitimate government of Ukraine in Kyiv last winter were recognized as victims.

The state prosecution is represented at the trial by the prosecutor of the Republic of Crimea, Natalya Poklonskaya.
