“Today the grandiose construction project has reached the finish line. At the beginning of the next holiday season, the new terminal will receive its first passengers,” the statement says.
To date, more than 5700 tons of metal structures, 130 stained glass windows, consisting of 9 thousand unique double-glazed windows, have been installed. The total length of the engineering networks of the new terminal is more than 700 kilometers. “This is more than three times the distance from Simferopol to Kerch,” adds Sergei Aksenov.
According to the head of government, the commissioning of a new terminal will increase the capacity of the main air harbor of Crimea to 6,5 million passengers per year and will make the airport the largest air terminal complex in the south of Russia.

“Initially, such a name was not intended, but colleagues from the Simferopol region and from the village. Ukromny, when deciding what to name the new square, they offered this option. And now millions of guests of the peninsula will take their first steps on Crimean soil along Reunification Square. This is symbolic,” Aksenov concluded.
