Members of an extremist organization were detained in Simferopol
In Crimea, on the anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people, the police detained supporters of the Majlis banned in the Russian Federation. The head of the Central Election Commission of the Kurultai of the Crimean Tatars, Zair Smedlyaev, stated this in his blog.

According to him, security forces detained several people on Lenin Square in Simferopol, where during the Ukrainian government Mezhdlis members held traditional rallies at which political demands were put forward to the Kyiv and republican authorities.
“We have now reported that our compatriots have been detained in the central square of Simferopol! Among them are Server aga Karametov, Nariman Dzhemilev and Server Izmailov. They’re taking me to the Central District Department of Internal Affairs,” said Smedlyaev.
In turn, journalist Zair Akadyrov notes that more than a hundred people gathered at the memorial stone to the victims of deportation near the Simferopol railway station.
“A square near the Simferopol railway station at these minutes. More than a hundred people gathered to honor the memory of those killed as a result of the deportation.
