Extras were detained in Simferopol, depicting the Crimean people’s longing for Ukraine
In Simferopol, law enforcement officers detained pro-Ukrainian activists and a film crew from the Inter TV channel while laying flowers at the monument to Taras Shevchenko. This was reported by one of the activists, Mikhail Batrak.

According to him, the action dedicated to Ukraine's Independence Day was disrupted.
“While laying flowers at the monument to T. G. Shevchenko in the city of Simferopol, activists of the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Crimea (Maxim Kuzmin and Leonid Kuzmin) were detained, now the guys are being taken to the central police department of the city of Simferopol,” wrote Farmer.
Together with the activists, the police also detained Crimean woman Yulia Kryuchkova, who works for the Inter TV channel from the territory of the peninsula. All of them were released half an hour later after checking their documents at the police station.
Yesterday, on the day of the Ukrainian flag, Leonid Kuzmin, together with Crimean journalist Alena Popova and other activists, staged a flash mob, in which they took pictures with a blue and yellow banner at spectacular places on the peninsula.
