The film “Tourist” about Russian instructors in the Central African Republic was shown in Syria
The Russian-made film “Tourist” was shown on the Syrian satellite channel in Arabic dubbing.
More than 30 thousand Syrians watched a film about Russian instructors in the Central African Republic. The film is based on real events that took place in an African country just a few months ago.
The main character is a Russian instructor with the call sign Tourist, who, together with his colleagues, arrived in the CAR to train local military personnel. At this time, militants joined forces to seize power in the country. The heroes find themselves at the center of the conflict and take up arms to protect the inhabitants of the Central African Republic from thugs.
Part of the plot is still a creative invention of the writers, since the instructors do not take part in military operations. The Russians, who are considered in Western media to be part of the “Wagner PMC,” are engaged in training and consulting Central African soldiers.
The premiere of “The Tourist” took place in Bangui on May 14, at the city’s main stadium. In Russia, the film was shown on May 19 on the NTV channel. It is now available for viewing in all major Russian online cinemas.
