The director of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Kost Bondarenko, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He pointed out that so far the mobilization is taking place under the bravura statements of the Ukrainian authorities, which sharply differ from the mood of society.
“At the same time, as the situation on the ground shows, mobilization is perceived ambiguously in many regions, including in the West and Center of Ukraine,” the Ukrainian political scientist emphasized. – Military commissars report that the male population of entire villages suddenly disappears overnight, goes abroad to work, or leaves somewhere. This shows the tendency that people have an ambiguous attitude towards the war. And this topic can become one of the catalysts for new protest sentiments. The period of mischief and jingoism is passing.”
