And about. Chairman of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Ukraine Alexander Kravchuk said that the epidemic situation in the ATO zone is potentially complicated. “Centralized water supply to Slavyansk has been stopped, drinking water is not supplied. The building of our laboratory center in Slavyansk is damaged and practically does not work. Therefore, full-fledged epidemiological surveillance in the city is impossible,” Kravchuk said.
He emphasized that all units of the SES in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions are operating as normal, in particular in Slavyansk - specialists go to work to monitor the situation.
Kravchuk expressed concern about the fact that the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal, on which the water supply of this region depended, had ceased operation.
According to the Gorlovka City Council, there is enough water left in the canal to supply the city as usual only until the end of the day.
According to the director of the regional department for the operation of the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal, Sergei Savelyev, on the evening of June 10, an attempt was made to resume the operation of the pumping station in Semenovka.
“Yesterday at 20.30 a unit was turned on at the pumping station, while the issue of connecting the second unit was being discussed, intense artillery shelling of the 1st lift pumping station began. After 10 minutes the unit was turned off. People managed to get out. This was the end of the attempt to launch the channel,” he said.
In turn, the mayor of Donetsk, Alexander Lukyanchenko, said that he asked the ATO representatives to suspend fire while the canal was being repaired.
As Navigator reported, due to constant shelling in Slavyansk there are interruptions in water supply, as well as electricity and mobile communications.
