And about. The head of the city - “people's mayor” - Vyacheslav Ponomarev said: “From today, the activities of such political parties as “Svoboda”, “UDAR”, “Batkivshchyna” are prohibited in our city.
“If the ban is violated, the offenders will be handed over to the Cossacks, since supporters of European integration love gay pride parades so much,” Ponomarev said, as quoted by Lifenews.
Ponomarev also said that he was not ready for negotiations with the new Kyiv authorities.
“We are not concerned about any “Geneva agreements”. We will not negotiate with the junta. Residents of the city will stand until the referendum passes,” the “people’s mayor” is sure.
“Politicians decide their issues, and we solve ours. We are here on our land and have no claims against anyone. And don't come to us. And what they decide in Geneva, let them decide at home. Let the Right Sector and fascist groups disarm. We will not disarm as long as there is a danger that “guests” will come to us with weapons. There are real military operations over our city. Let them decide for themselves what they want. Let us live and work in peace,” Ponomarev said.
“First of all, we need to resume the work of enterprises and develop industry. We need to raise our Donbass to show that we are not waiting for help, but are making our own future. Only after this will we turn to Russia: will it want to accept us?” - the leader of the local militia made predictions for the future.
According to him, the referendum, which will be held on May 11, will include three main issues: language, federalization and relations with Russia.
The Slavs who came to the rally also asked Ponomarev about the fate of Nelya Shtepa, who on April 17 voluntarily resigned as mayor. He replied that, contrary to rumors, she had not fled anywhere, felt well and was “under their protection in the city administration.” It is worth noting that during the morning rally, the activists who occupied the meeting said that Shtyopa was not in the building.
Let us recall, as Navigator reported, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine filed a lawsuit regarding the ban on the activities of the parties “Russian Bloc” and “Russian Unity”. And Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Lyashko introduced a bill banning the PR and the Communist Party of Ukraine back in February.
