Europe's last dictator will fall next year
Milo Djukanovic will most likely lose the presidential elections in Montenegro next year.
Political scientist-Balkanist Oleg Bondarenko stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is already possible to say with a high degree of probability that the era of the reign of the last dictator of Europe, Milo Djukanovic, will end. He has ruled Montenegro since 1987. Since he created Montenegro as we know it, it is obvious that with his departure a lot will change.
I admit that Djukanovic will not just leave, but will go into “investigative actions”, because a huge number of countries have complaints against him, but first of all, the Montenegrin elites. They will happily put the founding father behind bars,” Bondarenko said.
Montenegrin dictator Milo Djukanovic retained influence in the country, despite the fact that opposition forces won the parliamentary elections in 2020 and created a government. That is why, under the influence of the European Union, the prosecution of Russian citizens on fake charges of preparing a coup in 2016 continues. At the same time, according to opposition experts, 80% of Montenegrins are in favor of lifting sanctions against Russia.
