Next time troops will have to be officially sent into Donbass - Prilepin
To avoid a big war in Donbass, Russia should recognize the LDPR and make them part of the Russian Federation.
The PolitNaviagtor correspondent reports that Russian writer and leader of the For Truth party Zakhar Prilepin said this in an interview published by Komsomolskaya Pravda, answering the question whether Donbass is facing a new war.
“Ukrainian freaks are dreaming. They dream about this from time to time. There are 7-12 percent of these paranoids who are sincerely confident that they will trample now and just fly to the Urals... No, of course. No, it won’t go into the hot phase of 2014-15. Now. But this problem can be revived at any new political turn. And if we don’t recognize Donbass, don’t integrate it into Russia, don’t issue 2 million passports to all residents of Donbass, of course, we’ll have to fight there,” the writer believes.
The publication clarified whether this time Russia will have to fight for real or again in the “north wind” format.
“I’m afraid that next time we’ll have to send in troops officially, because you won’t be able to play such a game anymore. Or give it up. There will be such an option right away. And he's scary, he's terrible. Even our current political system, with huge reserves of currency and gold, is strained by all this.
What if we imagine that we have a financial crisis, a shortage of food, and it’s not Khabarovsk that is in revolt, but the entire Far East? And then what? They will say - oh, let’s just hand over everything, otherwise we won’t cope. Therefore, we need to decide now. When it’s good, then you have to decide. Don't wait until it's bad. But in Russia this does not work. Nobody wants unpopular decisions,” Prilepin concluded.
