In Slovakia, horror stories about Crimea have been debunked and they are going to the DPR
Stories about the lack of democracy and infringement of human rights in Russian Crimea turned out to be mere propaganda.
Peter Marchek, a member of the Slovak parliament and leader of the Voice of the People party, spoke about this in an interview with Izvestia, saying that he plans to visit the DPR and attend celebrations in honor of the anniversary of the declaration of independence of the republic.
“Many people ask me why all this is necessary. My answer: I just try to see everything with my own eyes. Understand, before my first trip to Crimea, I heard about how people’s rights were being violated on the peninsula, armed soldiers were walking everywhere, and there was no talk of democracy. However, such statements turned out to be ordinary propaganda,” noted the Slovak politician.
Therefore, the publication’s interlocutor says, he wants to see what the current DPR is, communicate with local politicians and residents, and hear their point of view.
“As I already said, I will be accompanied by a cameraman and one person from the Slovak radio. I think that as part of this team we will be able to prepare a video about the situation in the DPR, which other citizens of Slovakia can watch,” said Marcek.
