In case of default, Ukraine will be treated like a criminal - expert
Kyiv, February 16 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – International loans have driven Ukraine into a dead end. There is not enough money to repay them, and the declaration of default means international isolation for the country, economist Alexander Paskhaver told the agency Golos.ua.

“All countries that once took out a loan were then forced to take out loans again in order to pay off previous debt obligations. This is a standard situation for any country. The main thing is that these loans are cheap. The IMF provides the cheapest loans. And in order to be able to return this money, we need to put the economy in order. Otherwise, it will not grow, and we will never pay off these debts,” the expert says.
He noted that getting rid of debts can only be done by declaring a default, but such a measure would mean international isolation for the country.
“If Ukraine defaults, it will find itself in the situation of a person who borrowed money from friends and said that he would not pay it back. What happens next? He will quarrel with everyone, and everyone will treat him like a criminal. This person will never get anything else from anyone. In the case of Ukraine, this death scenario is similar,” Paskhaver explained.
