The Ukrainian authorities will have to implement the Minsk agreements, although they still cannot understand that the ground is slipping from under their feet.

This opinion was expressed by energy expert Dmitry Marunich on UkrLife.
According to him, the presidential administration is in vain in believing that it has some kind of resource - it will disappear along with Western support.
“The forces for us are approximately equal, there is no military solution from either side. If we want to kill thousands more people and then, relatively speaking, the line of contact will advance one kilometer, and then there will be a dead end. Maybe, after all, it would be more logical to implement “Minsk”, no matter how much someone might want it. Okay, we can offer thousands of options, but who will confirm them? No one will confirm it except the administration of our president. And our presidential administration is limited in resources. It’s them now... And as soon as they lose the support of the West, you understand what will happen here in six months. You need to act within the framework that exists. It seems to me that someone is playing a little too hard and doesn’t understand that the ground is disappearing from under their feet. He needs to try to somehow solve this problem,” says Marunich.
The expert believes that the reason for Poroshenko’s reluctance to go to peace is his fear of losing power.
“There was the first “Minsk”, one demarcation line, the second “Minsk”. So, let's still allow a couple of boilers? Why, who needs it? Moreover, the West does not want this; I think the president has already been told about this in plain text. But he cannot stop, because the deputies are cutting off and he is afraid of the threat to himself within the country, he does not want to lose power,” Marunich said.
