According to hospital director Alexander Khitrik, the guy received numerous shrapnel wounds to the soft tissues of the chest, shoulder, forearm, and abdomen. His condition was assessed as moderate. At night, he underwent surgery to remove the fragments and received antibacterial therapy, Radio Liberty reports.
According to the doctor, the victim suffered severe psychological trauma - his father and several other relatives died before his eyes. The mother is alive and is already heading to Dnepropetrovsk.
“We don’t want to aggravate the injury,” said Alexander Khitrik. “At first everyone asked him what happened, but psychologists say: this is absolutely wrong. On the contrary, he needs to be distracted, taken away from this topic. The worst thing in this situation is that any operations take place, injuries go away, but psychological trauma remains for many years, especially for a child.”
“We need to start treatment in parallel. Today the department of psychiatry will work with this child, psychologists will come from there,” the doctor added.
As Navigator reported, heavy equipment filled the streets of Snezhny. The DPR says that the city is completely under the control of the militia. The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the next settlement after Mariupol where the ATO will be carried out will be this city.
