Social networks are making fun of Poroshenko’s new advertisement
New billboards from Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko appeared in Kyiv, dedicated to the army, religion and language.
On advertising media depicting the monument to Prince Vladimir the Great, built during the heyday of the Russian Empire, you can see the inscription: “We are Ukraine. The army protects our land, the tongue protects our heart, faith protects our soul. Petro Poroshenko.”
Ukrainian experts associate the appearance of this advertisement with the approaching presidential elections, which are planned for March next year, but are skeptical about Poroshenko’s chances of raising his rating in this way.
“Poroshenko’s new boards with pretentious phrases about the army, language and religion are the basis of his presidential campaign,” writes Kiev political scientist Dmitry Korneychuk in his blog. “Poroshenko seriously thinks that these issues really concern a poor country and will raise his zero rating?”
