His meeting with voters also took place at the local cultural palace. There were practically no empty seats in the hall, and residents asked questions about the entire range of problems that had accumulated during this time. Answering these questions, the Prime Minister said in particular: “Ukraine does not pay pensions, although it should, this money has already been budgeted. But this is done with the aim of causing social riots. But I want to say that we have already begun to receive funds coming to the Ministry of Finance from enterprises that have started operating, and the payment of pensions and wages will begin soon.”
Speaking about the restoration of destroyed houses and infrastructure structures, Alexander Zakharchenko noted that the republic will not be able to allocate funds for restoration due to the difficult situation, but houses will definitely be restored: “There will be no compensation in the form of money, but all houses, no matter what damage , will be restored. We will help with all the necessary materials, transport, and we will send construction crews. If the state cannot fully provide finances, then it is obliged to provide materials and labor, and this is what we will do.”
Answering questions about the DPR border, Zakharchenko emphasized: “The DPR borders are the borders of the Donetsk region, and there is no doubt about that. Our goal is for people to return to their homes in both Mariupol and Slavyansk. And I do not rule out that Izyum and Berdyansk will join our territory. Today’s borders are temporary, I want to especially emphasize.”
After meeting with city residents, Zakharchenko visited enterprises that had recently begun to operate: a supermarket, a boiler house and a bakery.
