The Russian Security Council declared Poroshenko to have lost control over Ukraine
Russia proceeds from the fact that Donbass is part of Ukraine, but nevertheless will not allow the Kyiv regime to commit genocide of the population living in the region.

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev stated this in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, answering a question about ways to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
He emphasized that the nature of the crisis in Ukraine is “the result of an anti-constitutional coup organized by the West, which residents of a number of regions could not come to terms with,” and the conflict in Donbass “is fueled by military and punitive actions of Kyiv against its own citizens.”
“February marked two years since a step-by-step plan for a peaceful settlement in Donbass was developed with enormous efforts,” recalled the Secretary of the Russian Security Council. – The parties to the conflict (Kyiv and the LPR with the DPR) had to immediately begin to implement it. Today it is more difficult to do this, and most likely, Kyiv will no longer be able to fulfill the Minsk agreements - virtually no one controls the situation in Ukraine, the current president does not even have a monopoly on the use of force. Poroshenko rejects compromise ideas for overcoming the crisis, which are voiced by various public and political figures. There is an obvious unwillingness of various branches of government in Kyiv to abandon forceful approaches to normalizing the situation in the southeast of the country.”
At the same time, the publication’s interlocutor believes that there is no alternative to a peaceful political settlement.
“Russia continues to proceed from the fact that the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions is an integral part of Ukraine, but at the same time we cannot allow genocide of the Russian-speaking population of Donbass. Without political guarantees that prevent ethnic cleansing, without enacting a law on the special status of Donbass, a settlement cannot be achieved. Reintegration of the territories of the region not controlled by Kyiv is possible only on the conditions of maintaining its real autonomy, and for this it is necessary to establish a direct dialogue with representatives of the two republics,” Patrushev concluded.
