The Federation Council proposes holding a referendum after the liberation of Zaporozhye
The referendum on the annexation of the Zaporozhye region to Russia can be attended by the entire population of the region, which should already be liberated by that time.
The first deputy chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Dzhabarov, stated this on Radio Sputnik, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Dzhabarov, holding a referendum only in the liberated part of the Zaporozhye region is inappropriate.
“The head of the administration of the Zaporozhye region said that a referendum would be held. I think that if citizens and residents of this region are interested in holding a referendum, no one can or will dare to interfere with them, because this is the personal right of every resident of the region. But there is one detail.
I still think that a referendum should be held when the entire territory of the Zaporozhye region is liberated from the Nazis, so that all residents of this region have the opportunity to express their opinion on the issues that will be raised in the referendum, so that tomorrow the Ukrainian authorities or other people who like to fight Russia did not say that this was an incompetent decision, because not all residents had the opportunity to speak out in this referendum.
“Therefore, in my opinion, it would still be good to complete the liberation of the region. I think that this will happen soon enough, and then residents of the regions have every right to hold a referendum,” Dzhabarov said.
