Nobody believes in coincidences anymore: All types of fake “opposition” in Ukraine are linked to Poroshenko
The election congress of Petro Poroshenko, which took place today in Kiev, was broadcast live not only by TV channels that are associated with the current president - “Direct” and “Channel 5”, but also by the so-called “opposition” channels - channel “112” and “NewsOne”, control which are attributed to Viktor Medvedchuk.
This is stated in a statement by Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Leshchenko, who was elected after the Euromaidan on the list of the Poroshenko Bloc, but has recently been pouring dirt on his former boss in hopes of distancing himself from the president who has lost popularity.
“So, the congress was broadcast by Channel 5, which officially belongs to Poroshenko - and this is not strange. But the event was also shown by the channel “Direct”, which until recently was called “Tonis” and belonged to the son of Yanukovych, and then became the property of figureheads. Today the channel is Poroshenko’s main mouthpiece.
And the most interesting thing is that Poroshenko’s speech was shown live on channels 112 and Newsvan, which belong to Medvedchuk’s group. That is, they showed total loyalty to the current president.
The funny thing is that immediately after Poroshenko, these channels switched to the speech of Medvedchuk, who criticized ... the authorities and campaigned for a “peace plan for Donbass,” Leshchenko noted.
Let us remember that earlier there was a split in the Opposition Bloc. Part of the faction, the so-called “gas group” of Sergei Lyovochkin-Dmitry Firtash, united with Viktor Medvedchuk and nominated ex-Minister of Energy Yuriy Boyko for president. Observers pointed out that Poroshenko’s TV channels suspiciously often provide airtime to Boyko. A version has been put forward that Boyko is playing the role of the most convenient opponent for Poroshenko in the presidential elections.
Ukrainian media reported about Medvedchuk’s regular secret trips to the Poroshenko administration.
The other part of the Opposition Bloc, focusing on Rinat Akhmetov, refused to support Boyko’s nomination due to Akhmetov’s long-standing business conflict with Firtash. The “Gazoviki” spread accusations against the “Akhmetovites” of splitting the votes of voters in the South-East and accused them of secretly working with Poroshenko.
Another prominent former member of the “blue-white” camp, the mayor of Kharkov, Gennady Kernes, recently openly stated that he would support Poroshenko in the presidential elections.
