Before the meeting of the heads of state, another negotiation should take place - at the level of Foreign Ministry experts in Berlin, the press service of Petro Poroshenko reports.
Putin clarified that the event in Minsk will take place “if by this time it is possible to agree on a number of positions that we have recently intensively discussed.”
Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said that negotiations in Minsk will tentatively begin on Wednesday evening.
Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, close to the Poroshenko administration, said on the 112 TV channel that at the meeting in Minsk a decision on a ceasefire could be made, and negotiations would also take place regarding the withdrawal line of heavy weapons.
At the same time, Fesenko claims that the militia is allegedly interested in the truce, since “the separatists were unable to develop an offensive.” “This is one of the reasons why the Russian Federation agreed to resume the negotiation process,” the Ukrainian expert assures.
Fesenko also said that the option of granting autonomy to Donbass is still unacceptable for Kyiv.
