This is stated in an article in The Wall Street Journal, “PolitNavigator” correspondent reports.
“The US plans to arm Ukraine, enraging Russia and exacerbating already bad relations, but what is more worrying is the weapons falling into the hands of the enemy - as was the case in the past,” the newspaper writes.
In particular, it was noted that in 2014, when the United States transferred radar systems to identify the location of enemy artillery, one of these installations, which was located near Debaltsevo, ended up in the hands of the DPR army.
Therefore, US officials are reported to be scrutinizing the transfer of Javelin anti-tank weapons to Ukraine. Therefore, units located far from the front will be equipped with it, so that the weapon is not used for offensive operations and is not left to the enemy.
Let us recall that it was previously reported that US Defense Secretary James Mattis hopes that as long as no one wants to break into Ukraine, the influence of lethal weapons, which Washington officially agreed to sell to official Kyiv in December, will be insignificant.
