“For me it is a tragedy that such a talented, intelligent people (Russians - Ed.) lives the way they live. This is the result, to put it mildly, of an out-of-date, incompetent political system. When they understand that their interests are in the sphere of a modern system and they will create such a system there, they will begin to understand that the imperial approach to their world, to their neighbors, is actually harmful to Russia. And in such a situation, with such an understanding, the status of Crimea will not occupy the first position,” Herbst said.
