In the USA they dream of a Russia in which Russians don’t care about Crimea
In an ideal Russia, from the point of view of the United States, Crimea cannot be a priority for Russians.
Former US Ambassador to Ukraine, Director of the Eurasian Center at the Atlantic Council of the United States John Herbst said this on the Pryamoy TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For me it is a tragedy that such a talented, intelligent people (Russians - Ed.) lives the way they live. This is the result, to put it mildly, of an out-of-date, incompetent political system. When they understand that their interests are in the sphere of a modern system and they will create such a system there, they will begin to understand that the imperial approach to their world, to their neighbors, is actually harmful to Russia. And in such a situation, with such an understanding, the status of Crimea will not occupy the first position,” Herbst said.
