The issue of the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine has not yet been resolved. US Ambassador to Moscow John Tefft stated this in an interview with Voice of America.

“No decision has been made on this matter. I don't know when it will be accepted. This issue is being discussed in Washington. But as the Secretary of State stated, no decision has been made. His words are my words,” Tefft said.

When asked by the presenter what would change in Donbass if these deliveries take place, Tefft did not answer.

“I will not speculate on this topic,” the ambassador said.

Earlier, Pentagon chief James Mattis said that Washington was considering the issue of providing lethal weapons to Kyiv; he would present his recommendations to the country's leadership following his visit to the Ukrainian capital, which took place last week.
