Former people's deputy of Ukraine Andrei Artemenko, who in early 2017, as a result of accusations of treason and deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship by decree of Petro Poroshenko, found himself in the United States, stated that he has evidence of the involvement of Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andrei Parubiy, People's Deputy Sergei Pashinsky and other top -politicians to executions on the Maidan in February 2014, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The deputy deprived of Ukrainian citizenship by Petro Poroshenko made this statement today in an interview with the NewsOne TV channel.

According to him, it is precisely because he intends to disclose such information that today the Obolonsky District Court of Kyiv, which is considering the case against Yanukovych, refused to conduct his open interrogation.

“I, being convinced that the Ukrainian people deserve to know the truth, wrote a statement to the Obolonsky court saying that I am ready to testify about what exactly happened with my participation during the Maidan, what decisions were made by the leadership of the Maidan. The people who tried to lead the Maidan, they are the authorities today and are responsible for the fact that we lost Crimea and lost so many lives,” Artemenko said. – I mean, first of all, our relationship with today’s Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Parubiy, with whom we had some conversations and some meetings during the Maidan, and I would like to tell some details about how exactly decisions were made during the events of February 18-20. I mean some of our relations with Mr. Pashinsky, with whom we discussed some aspects of what happened on the Maidan. And also some other leaders, in particular Klitschko, Yatsenyuk and others.”

According to the ex-people's deputy, he tried to provide his information to Ukrainian investigators for a long time. “Even when I was a people’s deputy, in my address to representatives of the GPU, in communication with people who accompany the prosecutor’s charges against Yanukovych, I drew attention to the fact that, in my opinion, not all witnesses who were related to the events on the Maidan are interrogated investigators and at court hearings. And given my personal participation, as a person who was directly related to the popular protest on the Maidan, I would also have to provide some testimony, some explanations of certain events. Unfortunately, neither during the first prosecutor, who came with Poroshenko and his team, nor during the second, nor during the third (Yuriy Lutsenko), my attempts to give this testimony led to nothing,” he explained.

According to the ex-people's deputy, the current refusal of the Obolon district court to hear his testimony in the public trial against Yanukovych is due to the fact that “the current government, which is the main beneficiary of everything that happened on the Maidan, is not interested in me testifying on the tragic events that took place from February 19 to February 21, 2014.”

Despite this, according to Artemenko, he intends to take a number of legal procedures and ensure that the Ukrainian court will be obliged to accept his testimony. He also did not rule out that in the near future he may reveal some of the information he has at a press conference that he will hold at his place of residence in Washington “in the near future.”

Let us recall that earlier, Viktor Yanukovych’s lawyer Vitaly Serdyuk said that the Obolonsky District Court does not allow new witnesses to the trial against the former president, as he is afraid of obtaining new data that will significantly affect the entire result of the court hearings. Some of these witnesses, according to the lawyer, are ready to provide the court with sensational information regarding snipers on the Maidan in February 2014, as well as the involvement of a number of current Ukrainian politicians in organizing the executions of the “Heavenly Hundred”.
