The United States shifted responsibility for the results of negotiations with Russia to Ukraine. In Kyiv they didn’t understand the hint
It has become obvious that the United States does not see much prospects for sending peacekeeping forces to Ukraine. “Ideas for sending peacekeepers to Ukraine are constantly heard, but none have been translated into proposals suitable for consideration,” the White House said.
However, the United States has not given up on the idea of priority delivery of drones, Javelin and Stinger systems to Kyiv.
But just yesterday, Jen Psaki said: “Ukraine must decide for itself what outcome of negotiations with the Russian Federation it is ready to agree to.”
A very transparent and interesting message to Kyiv from its American patrons. In fact, it continues Biden’s recent thesis in Poland that only Ukraine can decide which territories to sacrifice for the sake of peace with Russia. The bad thing is that it seems that the Ukrainian authorities continue to pretend that they do not notice such signals and, out of inertia, demand direct military intervention from America and its allies in the conflict with Russia.
This is what Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba says in an interview with the BBC.
“Diplomacy in these conditions is not the central pillar of a peace settlement. We must conquer the world on the battlefield. Western countries must provide Ukraine with all the necessary weapons.”
One can even agree with Kuleba that the world can be conquered exclusively on the battlefield. And yesterday’s surrender of more than 200 Ukrainian soldiers in Mariupol is proof of this.
“We pressed the enemy tightly - he began to give up. But if these can count on an amnesty, then the Azovites know that a verdict awaits them,” writes the commander of the Vostok battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, in his blog, commenting on yesterday’s events.
