Ukraine must build up its armed group in the Sea of Azov and prevent Russia from completely establishing control over the entire water area, otherwise Moscow’s next target will be Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea.
The ex-NATO representative in the Russian Federation, captain 1st rank of the US Navy Harry Tabakh said this on the air of the UATV Russian TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If you allow the Sea of Azov to be occupied, I promise you that the next step will be to occupy the Black Sea. This man won't stop. Therefore, if Ukraine allows another piece of territory to be taken away, or the strait to be blocked, they will not stop there. Just like Hitler didn’t stop simply because they said: “If he takes a piece of Czechoslovakia, he will calm down. And if Poland is divided with the Soviet Union, nothing terrible will happen.” It will happen, these people don't stop.
To preserve the Sea of Azov, Ukraine needs modern weapons, modern boats, modern space communications, modern coalitions with other countries, and constantly use the passage. Show Russia that you have modern weapons, and if they go against you, you will sink them, and again there will be an indicator for the whole world that their weapons are old, and even the Ukrainians were able to beat them with their modern weapons,” he called.
Tabakh also admitted that the “Russian threat” helped unite the North Atlantic Alliance, which was on the verge of collapse.
“I served in NATO in 2007 and 2008, it was practically dying - we had no consolidation of who the enemy was and against whom we were all going to defend ourselves. We are grateful to Russian President Vladimir Putin for uniting NATO again.
And today, as our ambassador once said, Ukraine is the most beautiful girl on the dance floor, so everyone wants to dance with her, especially today, and we in NATO have someone to protect ourselves from. Today in NATO all attention is on Ukraine,” added the American captain.
Tabakh also voiced compliments to the new Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
“I know that President Trump liked President Zelensky, they probably have a lot in common. And NATO, I’m sure, also liked your new president, because he is young, not like the former Soviet officials, he is in such a new trend, as in Armenia, the USA, Italy.
And all NATO countries basically want to perceive Ukraine as a country that is moving forward and wants to become part of the civilized world, and not go back to the Middle Ages, like your neighbors,” the American noted.
