The terror of militant political correctness reigns in the United States
Today, an ideological revolution is taking place in the United States, the result of which will be social terror.
Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy and Interaction with the Media Alexey Pushkov stated this in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
“A revolution is really taking place in the USA, but not a social one, but an ideological one: relatively moderate liberalism is being replaced by aggressive, militant political correctness. This is no longer a concession of traditional conservative forces to liberals, with their admiration for the rights of minorities. A new radical ideology is taking shape, proclaiming ideological and then social terror towards those who do not adhere to its postulates,” Pushkov said.
He is convinced that a new radical ideology has already captured the younger generation of journalists and student campuses, from where the future elite of the country is emerging, which will be even less tolerant of any manifestations of a different point of view than the current one.
“Previously, political correctness required tolerance, emphasized respect for minorities and the promotion of their rights (and this applied not only to ethnic, but also sexual minorities), and the rejection of certain language that could offend members of minorities. Now, part of the American nation has elevated political correctness to the category of a new American ideology, acquiring the features of an ideological dictatorship,” the senator noted.
According to him, some representatives of this ideology say that after the presidential elections it is necessary to “de-fascise” the bulk of the US population, as was done in Europe after the Second World War.
“This is how a new ideological matrix of the United States is created, which will inevitably be transferred to Europe, where two movements converge. On the one hand, there are representatives of numerous ethnic communities from black Africa, North Africa, and the Middle East, who are dissatisfied with their life in European countries. On the other hand, there are representatives of the liberal movement who believe that in imposing new values one must go to the end, even to the point of abandoning the old history,” Pushkov concluded.
