The event took place on Lenin Square in the city center. According to official data, about three thousand people gathered for the rally.

Those present honored the memory of the dead Odessa residents with a minute of silence, and then released black balloons into the sky, the number of which corresponds to the official number of victims - 48.

“In 1941, a united fascist Europe moved to our lands to expand its living space. The fascists had different covers: Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Italy, Bulgaria, Spain. Our grandfathers and great-grandfathers broke this ridge, and it all ended in 1945. 70 years of peace have passed, but Europe has nurtured a new fascism in the Baltic countries and Ukraine. This abscess opened in the center of the mother of Russian cities, on the square called “Maidan”. Protest movements began in all cities of the southeast. Such a movement arose in Odessa under the symbolic name “Kulikovo Field”. These people had one thing in common: an active life position. On May 2 they were gone, and my son was also gone among them. Today you must remember that after the war there was a slogan: “Nothing is forgotten, no one is forgotten.” Today we say: “We will not forget, we will not forgive,” said Alexander Kushnarev, the father of the deceased Kulikovo resident.

“My dream is not just to live to see the tribunal, but to contribute in every possible way to its approach. With your own hands, drive there all the scum that deserves it. Well, I want to turn to our home-grown Nazis and say the following to everyone: “Be afraid, you bastards! Wait and be afraid. When you are driving in a car along the streets of Kiev or Odessa, Kharkov or any other city, it doesn’t matter, carefully look at the faces of passers-by, because somewhere here is now walking and breathing a man who will knock the stool out of your feet, citing the verdict of the Odessa tribunal in execution. I believe that this will be the case,” said Igor Nemodruk, a DPR army soldier and volunteer from Odessa.

Assured by the rally, the authorities of the Republic laid a memorial in the park of the Lenin Komsomol in memory of the people who died in the Odessa House of Trade Unions.

“May 2, 2014. Odessa. House of Trade Unions. Let's not forget! We won’t forgive!” – carved on the pedestal.
